Behind the seams

About NeverDry

More than just a surf school – a community built on salt water, headwinds and pure joy.

Our Story Historia

The person who started NeverDry is Eric Skride. My journey has gone through everything with a board and speed, from snowboarding and kitesurfing to stubborn 'old man skate' in concrete parks. I still chase the snow when winter delivers, but wingfoiling was the sport that made the pieces fall into place – a combination of simplicity and total freedom.

The goal was simple: the threshold for starting to foil was too high, so we decided to lower it. By focusing on community and the joy of being out on the water, we have become the region's most experienced wingfoil center. The name 'NeverDry'? A nod to the fact that you're rarely dry when you're having too much fun at sea!

The story behind the Name

The name NeverDry was not born in a boardroom, but rather in the drying room. A name that celebrates the lifestyle that board sports entail.

The fourth element

As a surfer, you're never really dry. If you ride a lot, the wetsuit and equipment never really get a chance to dry between sessions.

Never dry behind the ears

We believe in keeping a childlike curiosity. For us, wingfoiling is about play and curiosity, regardless of age.

Physical movement

When you live life to the fullest and move your body, you sweat. You're simply never really dry when you're having fun.

No Dry Personality

Life is too short to be boring or square. We strive for a no-nonsense community where the joy on the water always comes first.

Why Kalmar & Öland??

What makes our waters unique is that we can almost always find a perfect spot, regardless of where the wind is coming from. For us, it's about maximizing time on the water and minimizing time in the car. Having access to both the convenience of the mainland and Öland's unique coastline means we can offer courses where conditions are at their very best for your level.

Öland

Perfect for westerly winds. Here we find shallow beaches with sandy bottoms that make it safe to learn wing handling without having to think about depth.

Kalmar

Our choice for easterly winds. Here we often get wind-sheltered areas with flat water – completely optimal for practicing foil balance or your first flight.
